About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website gutterexpert.co.nz and any gutter services provided by My Homes Gutter Expert, located at 84B West Harbour Drive, West Harbour, Auckland 0618, New Zealand.

By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

Our Services

My Homes Gutter Expert provides residential and commercial gutter services across Auckland, New Zealand. Our services include:

  • Gutter cleaning β€” removal of leaves, debris, and blockages from all gutter systems
  • Gutter repair β€” fixing leaks, sagging sections, joints, and brackets
  • Gutter installation β€” new gutter systems for residential and commercial properties
  • Gutter replacement β€” full replacement of old or damaged guttering
  • Gutter guard installation β€” leaf guard and protection systems
  • Spouting & downpipes β€” spouting installation, repair, and replacement

All services are provided subject to a written quote accepted by the client. We reserve the right to decline any work at our discretion.

Quotes & Pricing

We provide free, no-obligation quotes for all gutter services. All quotes are:

  • Valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated
  • In New Zealand dollars (NZD) and inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise
  • Based on the scope of work identified during an on-site assessment or your description
  • Subject to change if the scope of work changes after the initial assessment β€” we will always notify you before proceeding

Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind our work. My Homes Gutter Expert provides a written workmanship warranty on all completed gutter projects. Warranty specifics are outlined in your individual job contract, but generally include:

  • Gutter cleaning: 30-day guarantee against blockage from residual debris
  • Gutter repair: minimum 12-month workmanship warranty on repairs completed
  • Gutter installation / replacement:2-Year gutter-replacement workmanship warranty with manufacturer's product warranty
  • Gutter guard: subject to manufacturer warranty plus 12-month installation warranty

Warranties are void if damage arises from events outside our control, including extreme weather events, acts of God, or modifications made by third parties after our work is complete.

Payment Terms

Payment terms are outlined in your individual quote and invoice. Our standard terms are:

  • Payment upon completion unless a deposit or staged payment schedule has been agreed in writing
  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer (preferred), credit/debit card, and cash
  • Deposits may be required for larger installation or replacement jobs or special-order materials
  • Late payments may attract interest in accordance with the Interest on Money Claims Act 2016

If you have any concerns about an invoice, please contact us within 7 days of receipt. We are always willing to discuss payment arrangements for genuine hardship situations.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair for both parties:

  • More than 48 hours notice: No cancellation fee β€” we will reschedule at no charge
  • 24–48 hours notice: A small administration fee may apply to cover scheduling costs
  • Less than 24 hours notice: A call-out or preparation fee may apply, particularly for larger jobs where materials have been pre-ordered
  • Weather cancellations: We will reschedule at no cost β€” your safety and our team's safety always comes first

Liability

My Homes Gutter Expert holds comprehensive liability insurance and trade cover on every job. We take every precaution to protect your property during works.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, My Homes Gutter Expert shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or website. Our liability is limited to the value of the work performed.

  • We are not liable for pre-existing damage discovered during works unless agreed in writing beforehand
  • We are not liable for delays caused by weather, material supply issues, or circumstances beyond our control
  • All our team members are trained and covered under our liability insurance policy

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

All content on this website β€” including text, images, videos, and graphics β€” is the property of My Homes Gutter Expert and is protected by New Zealand copyright law.

  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission
  • Our website is provided "as is" β€” while we aim to keep information accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee it at all times
  • Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only β€” we are not responsible for their content or practices
  • We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of our website at any time without notice

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand, including (without limitation) the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017.

Any disputes arising from the use of our website or services shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. We encourage all clients to contact us directly in the first instance to resolve any concerns.

Unresolved disputes may be referred to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealandfor claims up to $30,000 (or $50,000 by agreement). These terms were last reviewed in April 2025.
